CASE STUDY
LITTLE ROAD STUDIO

Little Road Studio is one of Adelaide’s leading interior design consultancies. Based on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, they offer design and styling services together with a physical retail space for furniture, art and objects as well as an online e-tail store. The studio is the creation of Marcus Syvertsen who insists that all fittings and finishes need to have a purpose and bring pleasure to one’s life and home.

Challenges

Little Road faced a positioning challenge. As a business with an integrated series of services, they were struggling with how to articulate that simply and effectively both in a conversation as well as online. They came to Blancspace knowing they needed to modernise their visual aesthetic as well as update their website design and functionality. They wanted to grow the significance of e-commerce in their business while encouraging in-person interaction in their Aldinga store and studio.

STRATEGTY

We started the Little Road journey with our Brand Discovery process. The output of this process is a 15-page deliverable that audits key brand elements, like existing segmentation and architecture as well as competitive market research and a SWOT analysis, and then delivers a road map for moving forward. For Little Road, that meant the development of a fresh new brand identity and sophisticated e-commerce website using their preferred platform, Shopify. Part of the Blancspace Brand Discovery process is an in-person workshop which allows for the transition of information, goals and ideas from the founder or owner of the business to the Blancspace team. We conduct a cross-team brainstorm which teases out dreams, and ultimately, what it is that the business really wants to achieve. By establishing this overarching goal upfront, the direction, priorities and positioning for the brand easily followed.

We then moved to develop our signature Brand Style Guide – a 30+ page ‘guide to your brand’ that is sectioned into Brand Strategy, Creative Direction and Brand Identity.  Our process helped to define Little Road’s key strength, interior design, as the service they want to be known for and then position their complementary offerings as supportive. This key brand positioning definition then informed our copy writing across all customer touch points; in a personal conversation, on their new website and social media profiles.

Next was customised content creation and curation. An on-location photoshoot at Little Road Studio together with image curation from their archives and fresh new website copy. To celebrate the launch of their new website and online store, we developed a ‘live social shopping’ concept in the leadup to Christmas where we invited five of Adelaide’s favourite faces to shop the Little Road store live on Instagram.

We are delighted to share some of the creative results and output below and warmly invite you to explore the new Little Road website here.
